All-Star Team

The North Brooklyn Youth Baseball League All-Star Team is a special opportunity for selected players in our Major League Division to represent NBYBL in games against other local youth baseball programs.

Our All-Star Team is meant to celebrate players who have shown strong baseball ability, commitment, coachability, teamwork, and a positive attitude throughout the season. It is also a chance for players to challenge themselves, play alongside other dedicated teammates, and experience a more competitive baseball environment while still representing the values of our league.

How Players Are Selected

The NBYBL All-Star Team is selected and run by Coach Mike, one of our league’s longest-serving coaches.

Throughout the season, Coach Mike helps support teams across our Major League Division. Because he works with players from all Major League teams, he is able to see and evaluate players across the entire division, not just on one roster.

Coach Mike completes player evaluations and works closely with league coaches to identify players who are ready for the All-Star Team experience. Since he is not tied to one particular regular season team, he is able to help guide the selection process as a neutral voice focused on the full division.

Selections are based on baseball ability, effort, coachability, attitude, teamwork, and overall readiness for a more competitive experience.

What We Look For

Being selected for the All-Star Team is not just about talent. We look for players who represent NBYBL the right way.

All-Star players are selected based on a combination of:

Strong baseball skills
Consistent effort and focus
Coachability and willingness to learn
Positive attitude and body language
Team-first mentality
Respect for coaches, teammates, opponents, and umpires
Commitment to practices and games

A More Competitive Experience

The All-Star Team is different from our regular season teams. Regular season play is focused on development, inclusion, and building confidence for all players. The All-Star Team is designed to be more competitive.

Because of that, playing time and positions may not be equal. Coaches will make decisions based on the needs of the team, player readiness, game situations, and overall team balance.

We understand that this can be a new experience for many players and families, and we see it as part of the growth process. Players are expected to support their teammates, stay engaged, and contribute positively whether they are on the field, on the bench, at bat, or cheering for someone else.

What Players Can Expect

All-Star players should be ready to:

Arrive on time and prepared
Listen carefully to coaches
Hustle at all times
Support teammates
Compete with focus and respect
Represent NBYBL with pride

The goal is to give players a meaningful baseball experience while reinforcing the same values that guide our league every season: teamwork, sportspersonship, effort, community, and love of the game.

A League Tradition

Our All-Star Team has become a fun and exciting part of the NBYBL season. It gives players a chance to come together across regular season teams, build new friendships, and proudly represent North Brooklyn baseball.

We are proud of every player who is considered for this opportunity, and we are especially proud of the players who show what it means to be an NBYBL All-Star both on and off the field.
