Required Baseball Gear
Whether your player is new to baseball or returning for another season, please review the gear requirements below. Having the right equipment helps keep everyone safe and ready to play.
What Every Player Needs
Baseball Glove
Each player should bring their own properly sized baseball glove to every practice and game.
Batting Helmet with a Full Face Mask
Every player must have their own batting helmet with a full face mask.
A jaw guard alone does not meet the league’s safety requirement. The mask must protect the front of the player’s face from an unexpected pitch, tipped ball, or wild throw. This requirement applies to every age group.
The league does not provide shared batting helmets. Players should arrive with their own helmet so they are protected and ready whenever their team is batting.
We recommend trying on a helmet before purchasing to make sure it fits securely and comfortably.
Water Bottle
Players should bring a full water bottle to every session, especially during warm weather. Not all of our field locations have reliable access to drinking fountains.
Sneakers or Cleats
Players may wear sneakers or molded baseball cleats. Cleats are optional. We understand that children’s feet grow quickly and families may not want to purchase baseball-specific footwear every season.
Metal cleats are not permitted.
Optional Equipment
Baseball Bat
Players are welcome to bring their own bat, but it is not required. The league does not provide a bat to every player, but teammates are generally happy to share.
Please make sure any personal bat is appropriate for your player’s age and size.
Equipment Bag
A baseball bag or backpack can be helpful for keeping a player’s glove, helmet, water bottle, and other belongings together, but a special baseball bag is not required.
What the League Provides
Each registered player receives:
A team shirt
A team hat
Baseball pants
The league also provides teams with baseballs, bases, batting tees, catcher’s equipment, and other shared practice and game equipment.
Please Label Everything
Please clearly label your player’s glove, helmet, bat, water bottle, hat, and other belongings with their full name.
Many players have similar equipment, and items are frequently left behind at the fields. Labeling makes it much easier to return lost gear. The league has limited storage space for lost-and-found items and cannot guarantee that unlabeled equipment will be recovered.
Gear Swap
We usually hold a gear swap during our soft opening day. Families can donate gloves, cleats, helmets, baseball pants, and other equipment that no longer fits and look for something their player can use.
We will share additional details before the start of the season.
