Fall Baseball Registration Is Open!

Hi NBYBL Families,

We are very excited to begin registration for our Fall 2026 baseball season!

Please Read Before Registering

Please take your time, read this message carefully, and fill out the registration form completely. Returning players will receive first priority, so there is no need to rush through the form. Accurate information helps us place players, build teams, plan schedules, communicate clearly, and prepare for what we expect to be our biggest season yet.

Returning Players

We ask returning families to register by Monday, July 6 so we can begin planning teams, coach assignments, equipment, and permit usage.

If your child is not returning this fall, or if your family is planning to take the fall season off but hopes to return in a future season, please let us know. That information is also very helpful as we plan for the season.

As always, we will do our best to keep returning players with their core groups when possible, while also balancing rosters, age levels, skill development, coach availability, and field space. Team placement and schedules are not guaranteed, but we will work hard to create the best possible experience for every player.

New Players and Waitlist

New players will be placed on the waitlist first. Once we know our final permit time, field space, roster capacity, and number of available coaches, we will begin adding players from the waitlist wherever we have room.

We are hoping to welcome as many new players as possible, but we need to make sure we have the proper field space and coaching support before confirming new player spots.

Building on a Great Spring Season

This past spring was an incredible season for North Brooklyn Youth Baseball. We continued to grow as a league, expanded opportunities for players at every level, expanded tee-ball to include a Sunday program, hosted special baseball events and clinics, built out our All-Star program, celebrated our teams and sponsors, and brought our baseball community together in ways that made the season feel really special.

Registration Fees, Donations, and League Growth

As we look ahead to the fall, registration fees help us continue to grow and improve the league. Fees support uniforms, field permits, insurance, equipment, baseballs, tees, storage, safety supplies, umpire costs as we add more games, and league gear.

We are also planning to provide hoodies this season and will try to order other NBYBL merch as well for our players.

During registration, families will also have the option to add an extra donation to support the league. This is completely optional, but every extra contribution helps. Donations go directly back into NBYBL and help us purchase additional AEDs, secure storage space at Roberto Clemente Ballfield, replace and add equipment, and provide financial assistance for families.

We want baseball to remain accessible to families in our community. If registration costs are a concern, please reach out to us directly.

Coaching and Volunteers

As always, parent volunteers are a huge part of making the league possible. Some coaches are moving away, and as we continue to grow, we always need more head coaches and co-head coaches.

If you are interested in coaching, co-coaching, assistant coaching, or helping at practices, please indicate that on the registration form. The more volunteer support we have, the more players we are able to welcome into the league.

Commitment and Attendance

We ask that families only register if they can make a consistent commitment to the season. We understand that things come up and players will occasionally miss a game or practice.

At the same time, we have many players on the waitlist and limited spots available. Consistent attendance helps players develop, helps teams build chemistry, and helps coaches plan. If your family’s schedule will make it difficult to attend regularly this fall, we ask that you consider waiting until a future season.

Season Timeline

The fall season is expected to start Labor Day weekend and wrap up just before Thanksgiving. Labor Day weekend will likely serve as our opening day, when we hand out shirts, hats, and any other league gear, and ease into the season.

We understand that some families may be away that weekend, but we are currently planning to begin then so we can make the most of the fall schedule.

Locations and Schedule

We are planning to use our same core locations: McCarren Park, Roberto Clemente Ballfield, and Newtown Barge Park. Games will primarily be on Saturday mornings, though we may add some Saturday afternoon games depending on registration numbers, field permits, and team placement.

Weeknight practice schedules are still to be determined and will depend on Parks Department permits, coach availability, and field space. We have applied for additional field time and are hoping to add more teams this fall, but final details will depend on the permits we receive.

Tee-Ball

Tee-ball location and time are also still to be determined. Tee-ball may take place at McCarren Park on Saturday mornings, or possibly at Newtown Barge Park in the afternoons, depending on permits and field availability.

Newtown Barge Park is primarily used for soccer in the fall, but we love that location for tee-ball and are hoping to secure time there if possible.

Gear and Equipment

Families should plan for players to have their own glove and batting helmet with a full facemask. We will share more details about uniforms, league gear, and any other required equipment before the season begins.
